Our cemetaries
Within the borough of Great Yarmouth there are four council-owned cemeteries, offering space for graves and memorials. These are:
- Magdalen Lawn Cemetery, located on Oriel Avenue, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, NR31 7JJ.
- Gorleston Old Cemetery, located on Magdalen Way, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, NR31 7BN.
- Yarmouth Cemetery, located on Kitchener Road, Great Yarmouth, NR30 4HU.
- Caister Cemetery, located on Ormesby Road, Caister-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth, NR30 5NL.
Jewish Cemetery
The Jewish Cemetery was opened in 1855 and the first known burial dates from August 1858, with the last known burial daring to 1936.
The entrance to the Jewish Cemetery is on Kitchener Road. It is located within the larger cemetery complex operated by Great Yarmouth Borough Council and is used by several different Christian denominations. Separated from them by a high stone wall, the Jewish Cemetery is entered through a wooden gate that is kept locked.
